A beautifully crafted mirror gong that offers a balanced combination of aesthetic beauty and rich, dynamic sound.
Its smooth, polished finish not only gives it a striking appearance, but also provides a pleasant tactile experience when played with friction mallets (or "flumies").
Most importantly, this finish allows for sustained, broad-spectrum tones that resonate deeply, making it an ideal choice for meditation, sound therapy, or musical performance.
Sound and performance
The hammered edge of the gong, with its subtle and slightly irregular depressions, contributes to a varied soundscape.
Each strike produces a different layer of harmonics, providing the flexibility to explore a wide range of tones.
Whether you use a gentle tap or a more forceful tap, the sound changes with the touch, providing a versatile tool for musicians and sound therapists.
The unique hammered edge design enhances the gong's ability to adapt to different playing techniques, producing a sound that is both soothing and complex.
Its wide tonal range and nuanced harmonics make it particularly suitable for those wishing to explore both the meditative qualities and expressive potential of gong playing.
Each gong comes with a basic mallet, ideal for everyday use such as beginning or ending meditation sessions. For more advanced sound exploration, we recommend pairing the gong with a variety of mallets and friction sticks to unlock its full potential.
Smaller sizes and weights have a higher pitch due to their thickness and small diameter. Larger ones will tend toward mid and bass sounds.
Note: These gongs may have small 'blisters' on their surface, this cannot be 100% avoided for handmade gongs.
This is a normal phenomenon, it is not a hole or a dent, it is a bubble of molten copper and does not affect the sound of the gong or the service life.
