🌸 Donations

- Gem & Zen donates a portion of its profits to national and international humanitarian, educational and cultural charitable projects.

Gem & Zen, along with its clients, sponsors a substantial and generous amount each year. Every amount sponsored by clients is matched by us! These donations support numerous projects, such as elderly care, children's education, tree planting, and the construction of drinking water facilities. In addition, there is also a generous annual donation budget to support/carry out larger projects.

Project 1: Help in Action Help in Action is a volunteer-run non-profit organization founded by TYS Lama Gangchen in 1992, who lived in the West for many years and worked tirelessly to promote a positive mutual exchange of knowledge, know-how, and humanitarian assistance between East and West.
Help in Action supports people in the Himalayan region, particularly in India and Nepal, through humanitarian projects for children, the elderly, the sick, the disabled, and monks. It also provides immediate assistance in emergencies such as natural disasters. Learn more about Help in Action.

Project 2: Food for the Poor Nepal - Mani Bhadra BV distributes freshly prepared meals to the poorest of the poor living on the streets of Kathmandu. Currently, a complete, nutritious meal costs €1.50 per day, including distribution fees.
Believe me, people are so grateful! For people living in extremely poor conditions on the streets of Kathmandu, receiving a hot meal not only guarantees their survival, but also offers hope of being cared for and supported.

The number of meals we can provide depends on the donations we receive. No matter how much you can give, it will make a difference. To ensure this aid reaches everyone who needs it, local volunteers choose a different location in Kathmandu city from which to distribute meals each day.

Nepal remains one of the poorest countries in the world. Although food security has improved in recent years, an estimated 4.6 million people lack sufficient food.
According to the World Food Programme, 36% of children under five are stunted, 27% are underweight, and 10% are wasted due to malnutrition.

An estimated 250,000 people are homeless, and an additional 2.8 million people, many of them children, live in slums. Learn more about food for the poor: Food for the Poor Nepal.
